Radiesse

Thanks to the effective and long-term results it provides, Radiesse® is a popular choice in dermal fillers among our Marina Del Rey patients. Radiesse is a volumizing filler that helps combat the signs of aging on the face in ways that other dermal fillers cannot. Like other fillers, Radiesse is able to provide renewed volume to lift the skin and smooth out lines and wrinkles. Radiesse also goes a step further by stimulating the production of collagen, thereby using the power of your body to extend the results of your treatment. The results of a Radiesse treatment will last for at least a year, nearly double the time provided by other dermal fillers.

As we age, collagen production decreases. This substance gives our skin it’s firmness, elasticity, and youthful appearance. A reduction in collagen causes a loss in the skin’s support structure, resulting in looser skin, the formation of lines and wrinkles, and a loss of volume. Radiesse addresses these problems by replacing volume beneath the skin and stimulating the production of collagen. This means that the results of Radiesse are instant – you’ll see a noticeable change in your skin right after the treatment – and will continue to improve over the coming months as collagen production increases. Radiesse is proven to provide results for at least one year and many of our Marina Del Rey patients experience results for even longer.

Radiesse is most often used to treat signs of aging around the mouth and chin, but it can be used in other areas at the discretion of our skin Doctor. It can be used to correct smile lines, nasolabial folds, chin wrinkles, marionette lines, and the corners of the mouth. The treatment will add volume beneath the targeted area, smoothing out lines and eventually providing renewed firmness and elasticity as collagen production is stimulated.

Radiesse consists of Calcium Hydroxylapatite microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel solution. It is the only dermal filler to receive FDA approval that consists of calcium-based microspheres. During your treatment at one of our LA offices, Radiesse will be injected under your skin in the targeted areas. At the FDA’s approval, our Doctor typically mixes lidocaine, an anesthetic, with Radiesse to improve comfort during the treatment. Most of our patients report only minimal pain or discomfort during the injections. After the treatment, you will be able to resume normal activities immediately. Some patients experience injection-related side effects, such as skin irritation, redness, or bruising at the injection site, which typically resolve on its own in the days following treatment.

Radiesse can provide natural, long-lasting results after just one treatment at Marina Dermatology. You’ll enjoy the immediate results of Radiesse and notice continued improvements in the months to come.
