Vbeam Perfecta

The Vbeam Perfecta is one of the most versatile lasers available on the market today. It is able to treat a wide variety of skin complaints and is considered to be a very low-pain treatment, making it one of the most popular laser treatments offered at Marina Dermatology. After you meet with our Los Angeles skin Doctor to discuss your concerns, he will determine if treatment with the Vbeam Perfecta will provide you with the results you desire.

The Vbeam is able to treat a number of skin problems. Patients in Marina Del Rey often undergo Vbeam treatments to correct broken capillaries on the face and legs and reddened scars on their skin. The laser is especially effective at treating areas that contain red pigmentation, as this is the color that best absorbs the wavelengths of light emitted by the laser. The conditions that can be corrected through Vbeam treatments include:

  • Broken capillaries and small varicose veins
  • Port wine stains
  • A variety of scars, including acne scars and stretch marks
  • Rosacea
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Sunspots and freckles

Our Cosmetic Dermatologist may recommend the use of Vbeam Perfecta to treat other skin conditions as well.

The Vbeam Perfecta is a Pulsed Dye Laser. It delivers an intense burst of light to the skin, which is absorbed by specific blood vessels or melanin pigmented areas. The blood vessels or skin lesions will absorb the light, causing them to shatter. The body will then gradually and naturally absorb the fragmented matter, resulting in a reduction in the appearance of the treated complaint. The number of treatment sessions required to completely eliminate the area of concern will depend up on its severity and the patient’s unique skin type.

Despite the intense light used, most patients do not find the treatment to be painful, but a local anesthetic can be used if our Doctor thinks it’s necessary. During the treatment, the Vbeam Perfecta system delivers a cooling mist to the skin to increase patient comfort and reduce redness and swelling afterwards. Most patients report that they feel only a warm or tingling sensation during their treatment. After your treatment, you will be able to resume normal activities immediately. Some patients experience minor redness or swelling, but it is typically minimal and dissipates quickly. The low pain and zero downtime associated with Vbeam Perfecta make it one of the easiest laser treatments to undergo.

If you are interested in improving your appearance by correcting any of the skin concerns listed above, please contact one of our LA offices today. Our Dermatologist will help you determine if treatment with the Vbeam Perfecta is the appropriate solution for you.
